HITUNE Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) is a device basically consisting in a Mass, a Spring and a Damper that is installed in a structure in order to reduce the vibrations that may be induced by wind, earthquake, traffic, human behavior or machinery.
The frequency of the TMD will be tuned to a particular value so that, when that frequency is excited, the TMD will resonate out of phase with the structure reducing the vibration of the structure.
